Description
It's my old mate Father Appaloosa - the poor ol' boy has been shelved for far too long, and seeing as it was a year ago last month that I first drew him in my prelim attempts with digital art it is only fitting that he again grace my gallery.
Anyway the basics - done in PSP8, took about 5 days from conception to finish, though I'm not entirely happy thats its complete yet, but am too lazy to do anymore tonight. Done with Wacom, and I used several Bob Langrish pics for shading purposes, along with some anatomical diagrams from my vet manual for shading. Surprisingly I didn't use any refs for the initial sketch. I was inspired by 's Dreamcatcher pic, but had already designed mine before I checked it out in full.
The inital idea was for a comp of for her Sirius character, but after seeing some bloody gorgeous drawings I was tempted to use the image for my own evil purposes.
The idea of the image was - well there were several grandious ideas, but this is what came out - I think Father Appaloosa is leaving hoofprints in time. From there - who knows! If you look close he has a herd of horses on his rump. I could go on all night with what I was going to do and blah blah but we'll skip that for the sake of my sainty and your's.
Now, onto my owed pics *sigh*....
